Hyderabad: GyanDhan, an overseas educational loan provider, recently concluded its Partner Meet in Vijayawada, an event that brought together industry leaders and experts to discuss the evolving landscape of the study abroad market. Held at the Hyatt Place in Vijayawada, the event provided a platform for insightful discussions and networking opportunities, focusing on current trends and future projections in the overseas education sector.

The event commenced with an overview of the trends in the Indian study abroad market, highlighting the significant data points of declining trends in recent years. According to GyanDhan’s latest analysis, there has been a noticeable drop in the number of students interested in overseas education loans, with a 30 per cent decrease observed in January to March 2024 compared to the same period last year. Similarly, there was a 23 per cent drop in April to June year on year.

The highlight of the GyanDhan Partners Meet event was the panel discussion titled ‘Adapting to Shifts: Mastering the Current Study Abroad Market.’ Panelists included industry experts: Jayashree Natarajan, Regional Head of South India at ETS, Venkateswara Reddy, Managing Partner at Worldwide Edu Consultants, and Santhosh, Operations Manager at Academic Overseas Pvt Ltd.

Venkateswara Reddy attributed the observed decline in interest in study abroad exams to the ongoing recession, stating that he has witnessed several cycles of ups and downs in the industry.
